ASUS ROG CS:GO tournament at Assembly Winter 2018 in Helsinki, Finland on February 2-3, featuring eight teams and a $15,000 USD prize pool.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will once again be an integral part of Assembly Winter, as ASUS ROG starts the year strongly in Finland with a $15,000 CS:GO tournament on February 2-3, 2018. The competition will feature eight teams with six invites and two spots open for the local talent in Finnish qualifiers. The tournament will follow the usual formula kicking off with a group stage on Friday and concluding in the playoffs on Saturday. We will provide two streams for you to follow the action, with analysis & commentary provided in English and in Finnish. For the best experience, join the crowd of the dedicated ASUS ROG stage at the venue, Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Assembly Winter is the 2nd biggest esports event in Finland, drawfed only by Assembly Summer, and the Winter event especially is truly a celebration of esports and gaminig culture. As such, we are happy to announce that yet again we may enjoy the limelight of the mainstream media during the peak hours as the Finnish Broadcasting Company, Yle will be broadcasting the grand final live on the national station TV2. Make sure to have all your folks tune in for the rare treat on Saturday, February 3, on 22:00 EET.

Participation

Six teams enter the tournament via an invite, and Finnish teams may enter the online qualifiers which will provide two spots in the competition. If you are interested in participating in ASUS ROG Winter 2018 CS:GO Tournament, please send us an application requesting an invite. Don't hesitate as the event is in roughly four weeks and the invitations will be handed out soon. Note that all participants are required to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.

Qualifiers

There will be two qualifiers for Finnish teams. The winner in both qualifies to the main event.

Community streams

Our production teams will provide two top notch streams in English and Finnish, but we are also welcoming community streams in different languages to join the tournament. If you wish to broadcast the tournament, please send us an application.

Tickets

You can witness the action live on the venue inside the Assembly Winter computer festival. Matches will be shown on the big screen with an audience stand. Entry ticket to Assembly is required, but there is no additional cost for following the tournament. Tournament competitors do not need to purchase tickets. Format

The overall structure of the tournament is traditional with a double elimination group stage followed by single elimination playoffs. Matches in the group stage are played in the best-of-one format except for the decider match. In the playoffs, every match is a best-of-three.
